Your generosity is essential in helping to bridge the hunger gap for local children during this public health crisis. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve with its unprecedented shock to our economy, food insecurity in our community continues to be a growing challenge that directly impacts the health and development our children. While the Issaquah School District is committed to providing food and nutrition for school aged children, there remains unmet nutritional needs that go beyond what is being provided. The Issaquah Schools Foundation is partnering with the Issaquah Food & Clothing bank to ensure students' nutritional needs are being met through this ongoing school closure.
Can you help a family facing food insecurity during the COVID-19 outbreak and the weeks-long school closure?
Lunch for the Break is a community-wide program supporting children, grades K-12, within the Issaquah School District. This program helps alleviate hunger by providing a week's worth of free grocery items for students in the family that can be used to make breakfast, lunch and snacks. To ensure the health and safety of all families and community, we are asking donors to purchase boxes directly through Supply All Kids, who will purchase food and pack boxes to distribute at the food bank.
We need your help, now more than ever, to assist families in our community challenged by reduced employment and this extended school closure. We also ask that you consider making a financial contribution to help with additional support for current and emerging needs during this time.
Thank you so much for your support of our community!
