The Issaquah Schools District's Science-Tech program equips 4th and 5th grade students with 21st-century skills through hands-on projects incorporating multiple subject areas. By providing laptops and other learning tools to support the program, Foundation donors invest in cutting-edge skills for the next generation.
When Mira entered the Science-Tech magnet program at Cascade Ridge, she lacked confidence in her technology skills. She worried that she was not a good fit for the program and would not keep up with the other students. But with hands-on instruction, and access to a Foundation-funded laptop, Mira quickly gained confidence. She learned coding, programmed a robot, and built her own website all while continuing to grow in core subject areas.
