The Cultural Bridges program is a cornerstone of community building within the Issaquah School District. We foster meaningful connections among diverse ISD families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Through multicultural engagement, community events, and the publication of Cultural Bridges Magazine—our hallmark publication—the Cultural Bridges program strives to bridge cultural gaps, help families better navigate our schools and communities, and create an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment for all.
Our Mission
In response to the growing diversity within our school district, Cultural Bridges was established to support families as they navigate a new educational landscape. We recognize that parents who are new to the country may face unique challenges in supporting their children’s education. By providing culturally responsive resources in families’ native languages, we empower parents to become confident, active participants in their children’s educational journey.
Cultural Bridges Magazine
The Cultural Bridges Magazine is more than just a publication—it’s a trusted guide designed to help families navigate the Issaquah School District and the surrounding community. Available in eight languages—Arabic, Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese—the magazine serves as a vital bridge for communication, understanding, and connection.
