Each year the Issaquah Schools Foundation offers scholarship opportunities to seniors from Gibson EK, Issaquah, Liberty, or Skyline high schools who have been positively impacted or inspired by Foundation-funded programs.
Congratulations to our 2025 Impact Scholarship winners!
Winner: Anya Scharnhorst
Anya is a senior at Issaquah High School and as former Sunset Elementary and Pacific Cascade Middle School student. She serves as Captain of the IHS Swim and Dive team, President of the IHS Neurodiversity Alliance Club, Co-President of the National Charity League, and Activities Coordinator for Eagle Crew. Anya will be attending the University of Montana where she’ll study Communicative Sciences and Disorders with plans to become a Speech Language Pathologist.
Runner-Up: Hannah Nguyen
A senior at Skyline High School, Hannah has been in the Issaquah School District since Kindergarten. She is the Captain of Skyline Pride Wrestling, Secretary of the Bellevue College Finance Club, VP of the Skyline Investing/Entrepreneurship Club, Vietnamese Student Association Club Rep at Bellevue College and is graduating Bellevue College with a Business AA Transfer Degree as part of the Running Start Program. Hannah hopes to attend the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in the fall.
Honorable Mention: Rebecca Charernruengkit
Rebecca attended Endeavour Elementary and Beaver Lake Middle School and is now a senior at Skyline High School. She is interested in pursuing a career in health sciences as a Physician Assistant and will be studying Biology at the University of Washington, Bothell. Rebecca currently serves as the Cultural Ambassador VP at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, New Taipei International Youth Leader in New Taipei City’s Dept. of Education’s Overseas English Teaching Program, and as a counselor at the Chinese Folk Arts Summer Camp.
Honorable Mention: Matthew Fischer
Matthew is a senior at Issaquah High School and a previous student at Grand Ridge Elementary and Pacific Cascade Middle School. He is the Student Body President at IHS, coordinator of the King County Green Schools Sustainability program, member of the IHS Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band, Varsity Men’s Cross Country and Track athlete, and member of the Issaquah Robotics Society FRC Team 1318. Matthew is also an active member of IHS DECA and founded and now co-leads the IHS YoungLife Club. He plans to start his pursuit of an Environmental Engineering degree in the fall.

Requirements
The scholarship must be used for tuition and fees to further education or secure training needed to pursue a career pathway, including:
Paid directly to the designated institution, scholarship must be used within the academic year following graduation.
Applications
Applications for the 2024-2025 school year have closed. They will reopen for the 2025-2026 school year in January 2026. Stay tuned then for more information.
