Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
As parents and caregivers, you are an essential part of your child’s education. When families stay informed, connected, and engaged, students are better supported both in school and beyond.
Cultural Bridges created this Family Guide to help families better understand the Issaquah School District and feel more confident navigating the school system. Inside, you will find not only general information about how the school system works, but also specific information and resources for each stage of your child’s education, from preschool through elementary, middle, and high school. The guide also includes school, family, and community resources to support you throughout the year.
Each year, we review and update the Family Guide. Although many topics remain the same from year to year, important details may change, including programs, procedures, contacts, links, and available resources. For this reason, we encourage families to read the newest Family Guide each year and use it as a current reference throughout the school year.

In addition to this guide, we encourage you to read the information your child brings home, check weekly school newsletters, visit your child’s school website, and stay connected with your school’s PTA or PTSA.
At first, it may feel like a lot of information, but staying informed can make a meaningful difference for your child and your family. Once you feel more familiar with your school community, we also invite you to get involved. As you will see in this guide, the Issaquah Schools Foundation and PTA/PTSA volunteers play an important role in supporting students, families, and schools. Your participation, in whatever way works for you, can help strengthen our school communities.
