A Northwest native, Rod and his family moved to Issaquah largely because of the schools. While it seems like just a short time ago they began Kindergarten at Sunset Elementary, both his children have graduated from Issaquah schools.
Rod serves as an Emeritus Trustee to strategically support the work of the Foundation. As a former committee volunteer, then Board Trustee and co-Chair of Marketing, he focuses on the overall mission of the Foundation, and seeks to expand it’s visibility throughout the community to continue robust educational support.
Volunteering and working in schools is not new to Rod’s family, where is wife Kim previously volunteered in multiple PTA capacities including PTA President and now works in the schools, as does his oldest daughter who is currently an elementary school teacher. What draws Rod to volunteer for the Issaquah Schools Foundation is to ensure each student, in each school in the district has access to the educational opportunities his kids experienced.
Professionally, Rod is a founding staff member and now VP of Marketing at Ziply Fiber, aiming to bring better internet connectivity to people and communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. He has held various marketing and management roles in the events, entertainment and cellular industries, leading local and national marketing programs.
