Issaquah Schools Foundation
September 2017 - Spotlight on Success
Welcome Back Kids!  Time for another great year at the ISD!

To make this year the BEST EVER, Go ALL IN for the annual All in for Kids campaign! Your support makes a different for every student in every school!  Donate TODAY at isfdn.org
Who Mentored You?  Pass it on by Mentoring a Student!

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity at one of our schools?  Become a VOICE Mentor!
Here is what our volunteers like best about their mentoring experiences:
  • "Helping students become more confident in their abilities"
  • "Working with the little girl I mentor brightens my week"
  • "Being part of the student's life - to listen and encourage and share my experiences with them"
  • "Making a connection with a student and gaining their trust"
  • "Connecting with a child, one-to-one, through VOICE has been such a joy!"
Here is what the teachers say:
  • "Maddie loved working with her mentor and looked forward to seeing her each week."
  • "Having a mentor helped Alex stay connected to school."
  •  "My student greatly benefits from the consistency and relationship she has with her mentor."
  • "Drew needed a male figure to be his 'buddy'."
You can be that person who provides a positive, nurturing relationship for a student. It feels great to know you are making a difference in another person's life!
Mentor one student, change two lives

Thank you for making Tools4School a success!

Our Tools4School event was held on Saturday August 26th at Eastridge Church and helped over 900 students in need get the backpacks and supplies to start the school year right!
The kids also enjoyed a yummy BBQ, back to school haircuts, KCLS Van, Issaquah Book Shelf program and some fun with the Pacific Science Center's Blood & Guts exhibit!
Thank you to all the businesses and volunteers who made this event possible!  You make a difference in kid's lives!
