Spotlight on Success: July 1, 2022

Welcome Superintendent Heather Tow-Yick

Congratulations and welcome aboard! On behalf of the Issaquah Schools Foundation Board of Trustees and Staff, welcome to the Issaquah School District and our community. We are honored and thrilled to have your leadership and guidance as we forge ahead in continuing to serve the needs of our district students, families, educators, and our greater community.

Before moving to Washington state to work in Mukilteo, Tow-Yick served as chief of staff at Teach for America which is based out of New York; and also as chief of staff at Providence Public Schools in Rhode Island, executive director at Teach for America in Rhode Island. She started her career as a classroom teacher in New York City. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University Teachers College in New York, and a bachelor's degree from Brown University in Rhode Island. 

Thank you for choosing the Issaquah School District and our community as your new home. Our students, families, and the entire Foundation family are fortunate to have your wisdom, experience and leadership. Wishing you all the best in the years to come and we look forward to the road ahead with you at the helm.
